Full Body Skin Cancer Screening - 15 Minutes
Healthcare Australia is offering onsite 15-minute skin checks in partnership with your employer. The purpose of the screening service is to assess your skin cancer risk, examine your skin for suspicious lesions, and ensure you know how to proactively check your skin and watch out for any changes.
Practitioner: Registered Nurse with a certificate of Dermoscopy.
Service Outline:
1. Skin Risk Profile - as part of this booking process, you will be asked a series of pre-screening questions to determine your skin risk profile. This includes information about your medical history and other risk factors, such as past sun exposure, use of sunscreen, and other protective measures.
2. Full Body Skin Cancer Examination- you will undergo a comprehensive examination by a registered nurse using a dermatoscope. They will review your skin and any suspicious lesions. You can let them know if you have any spots or areas of concern.
3. Education and advice - educational material and preventative advice will be provided to you to ensure you can continue to monitor your skin, and proactively protect yourself from the harmful health effects of UV radiation.
4. Referral and Recommendations - the nurse will discuss the results of your skin examination with you, and if a suspicious lesion is identified, provide you with a referral to a GP or skin cancer clinic.
At the conclusion of the program, your employer will receive a de-identified summary of the results of all workers who participated. Personal information/individual results are confidential and will not be shared with your employer.

A demoscopy trained nurse will be checking your skin for suspicious lesions and educating you on sunsmart awareness. This does not replace thorough skin cancer checks or advice provided by your usual GP. If the practitioner asks you to have a skin lesion followed up, please make sure that you do this as early as possible. This can be done at a Skin Cancer Clinic or by your own GP. If you are reassured today, you should still ask your own GP to check your skin routinely, or for a comprehensive assessment, attend a Skin Cancer clinic for regular reviews including digital dermascopic monitoring of your moles and other skin spots. You should also see your own GP or attend a Skin Cancer Clinic if you are concerned that a mole has changed in anyway.
